More for Me Monday | Betty Dear

Has everyone recovered from their eggnog hangovers yet? Well, we here at Fat Quarterly have been thinking about all of our readers who may not have gotten everything on their wish list from the fat guy with the beard, so we'd like to soften the blow with a More for Me Monday giveaway sponsored by Robert Kaufman fabrics.

This week, we're offering up a full 18-piece fat quarter bundle of Betty Dear, the new line by Darlene Zimmerman. Betty Dear features a chic take on 40's housedress prints, perfect for starting a new spring quilt for yourself.

To enter, simply leave a comment on this post. Just for fun, let us know your favorite thing that you either gave or received this holiday season. We'll let the random number generator select one winner sometime on or after next Monday, 1/3/2011.

Good luck!

  1. Those fabrics are beautiful!

This year I managed to surprise my husband with a new xbox to replace the one that died ... and he treated me well in return with a promised design wall for my office!

  4. My favorite thing I received was what my sneaky husband gave me. I am a new quilter so my stash is quite small still and my space not yet organized , he got me a very modern and sleek shelving unit that covers a whole wall and he went to every quilt shop we have in my city and bought every fat quarter that he liked in the store ( about 20-30 per store) and organized them by color on the shelves before surprising me! He is the best!

  75. having spent two and a half years living in the USA (I'm an aussie, and have now returned home), one of my favourite parts of christmas while I was there, was the eggnog the Amish farmers used to bring to the Saturday markets near where we lived. It's not a tradition here in Oz, and something I miss dearly!
The favourite thing I gave this year, was actually to a friend we made while living in the USA, one with whom we remain in frequent contact, and the nicest part of this gift - a 'care' box full of chocolates, and australian licorice and other delicacies - was the fact that we don't usually exchange pressies, so this was out of the blue, and completely 'just because'. Because if you can't give a gift at christmas 'just because', then when can you?!

They're all fashionistas (with terrible shopping habits) so I wasn't sure if they'd really appreciate the handmade items. I tried to make each gift personal to each girl, taking into account their lifestyle and habits. I used everything from dino prints, to fur, and to lace, and luckily they LOVED them!
